Being charged for exporting from your solar panels.

I have installed lots of heat pumps, If you don’t have natural gas you basically have to fit one of these units, they cost two to three times the price of a gas unit
It is illegal to fit the older electric storage units on a new house as they don’t meet the low energy consumption requirements. Even if you fit solar the backup needs to be an electric heat pump or gas instaneous unit so the whole system becomes rather expensive and not cost effective

I just change my electricity supplier and was told that the feed in tariff, at the moment is 10.2c/kwhr, but as from (think it was) end of June prices will change. The guy expected that it could be around the 6c/kwhr mark, but he wouldn't know for sure until then. With rates like that would it be worth while having them?

One good thing about a lower feed in tariff is that i wouldn't feel that bad if my panels were turned off for a month. I need to have my roof resealed and the panels have to come down.
