I see at least 30 or 40 wild brumbies where I do a bit of my 4x4ing, sure they look like majestic animals & they are BUT like any wild/feral/introduced species that are left to their own devices they can also do a lot of damage to private property & our national parks!

Plenty of argument on both sides if you want to delve into it.

There are many of the same situations around our country that affect the man on the land & the environment.

Another example is feral camels-

The next example would be feral dogs & feral cats.

This is by no means an attack on your post Zob but more to highlight that when one person see's a nice horsy or dog or cat running around in the wild they might go 'oh how nice to see that cute animal' while not really understanding the damage they are actually doing to the country!

Very true and good point. Bloody zob had me all like ahhhh look at that beautiful horse and then saw your post and was like damnnnn haha

In all honesty though there are certain wild animals that do good for the enviroment amd obviouslysome that do bad.
Is a horse/wild brumby one of those that cause problems out there or more so other animals?

Nice photo zob and great point triton!

Can't blame the animals for the destruction they cause, they're just trying to survive like the rest of us - fox, cane toad, camel, buffalo, carp, deer etc. etc. are all species introduced to this country by man, we are the one's that should be held responsible for any damage caused by them.

The degree of adverse publicity/outrage/sympathy towards ferals relates directly to the 'cute'n'cuddly' factor. Brumbies and Bambi are cute and worthy of sympathy and saving, Three Little Wild Piggies and Cane Toad of Cane Toad Hall need to be exterminated.....
