For those interested, this is the damage from the CV letting go last weekend at neerim :D

this is whats left of the CV...

this is the stub axle with the brass bush and a bit of the inside torn out of it...

This is the knuckle where the CV sits inside, lots of chunks taken out...

I have got a new stub axle, cleaned up the knuckle and put in my spare CV... Thank god for spares! i have the front drive shaft at the driveline place, got a phonecall from them yesterday and its stuffed! now im up for a new double cardan. now to check out the winch!

Gota say though,,,,Typical Toyota tuff (marshmallow) CV's!!!!@! hehahe

NAAHHHH! Not as messy! :D Just as p!ss weak though!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Thing about trailing arms is if your out in the never never you could have a long walk. Not that too many people would be game to take a Nissan out in the never never... leave that for the cruisers hey:p

Seen more CV's go than trailing arms!;) By a long way!!

We had jumper leads, glass and welding rods. We could have welded it there on the spot. The mig was alot easier though.:rolleyes:

I'll bet it was. Have you seen that series "Bush Mechanics" The one with the Aboriginals travelling around the desert in NW Western Australia. Its a good laugh but there are some good tips.

When you get it all repaired, and mine is also done, I know this good little track just off Carrolls Track that we can try the rigs out on. :D:D:D

Seriously though, next time I am in the area, I will be doing ' Hell Track ' from the other direction. It was added as a track last weekend, so should be up soon if anyone is game to try it. Just remember, dont do this one alone.

I think i know that track your talking about David HAHAHA :D:D:D:D. i think hell track in reverse would be just as difficult, or should i say just as FUN!!! i dont know if you noticed in between all the fun but the ruts were deeper on the way down to the bog hole in the direction we went... hey ill tell you a little secret... (i have already fixed my 4wd :D) but ssshhhhhhhhhhhhh no one is to know! im picking up a real winch tomorrow. a WARN 8274 hi-mount. ill be callin up elise up later, ill ask how your paj is going. hope its only sumthing simple.

Do you hav some co-ords for this track....Mate lives on Mezpah/Settlement Rd so would like to gander next time i am there...UTM would be great
