I think it is a matter of comparing the two, and seeing which one best suits you.....
:):)

There are those that are staunch for brand, but, mostly, they are both very capable units.:rolleyes:

Just check out both, and if you can, have a drive of each one, then decide from there....:D:D

I dont want to say too much, I dont have my "Flame Suit" on... LOL...:eek::eek:

mmmm. Where do I begin. Cruiserlad had it 1/2 right. Most blokes buy their first rig and never change. If he first bought a patrol, he'd be spot on right!!

HAHAHA! ME! After some of the photo"s I've seen lately, thats the pot callen the kettle black! Ya ratbag! Now if YOU had a patrol, You'd feel better too. Especially at night. And ya brakes would last longer. No more stop-start every time ya lights go out!!!:D

It all depends on what you want it for.

Do you have kids?
Do you plan on loading it up to go camping?
How tough are the tracks that you want to do?
How easy is it to modify if you are going to modify it?
Do you want gas or diesel?
Are you fussed about how it looks?
Is fuel consumption important?
Are you buying new or second hand?
If second hand what year are you looking at?

There are a lot of things to consider.

It's horses for courses, but just keep asking questions, or come out for some trips and see what people do with there different rigs. I have just bought something to take out into the mud and play with and it took me months to work out what I wanted, and then another month to find the one I wanted. Cripes - one day later and I wouldn't have had it ready for O'Tooles :)

I have owned a number of 4wd's First was a series 1 landrover, a rockey, then a swb nissan, and now a 80 series cruiserand the handbrake has a pajero(yet to get it offroad). Each had their good points, and their bad points. I belive its what you can afford at the time, and what you want the 4wd to do.

The main thing is that you get out and enjoy it, and get it a little bit dirty

Wow this topic will certainly start some interest.

We were after a new ute 4x4. We looked at both Nissan & Toyota (we had a Hilux at the time) There was no comparision the Nissan was 200% better. Full coil, better ride and by far a better deal. I think at the time it was $15 000 better.

We purchased the wagon because everything that was on the ute slotted onto the wagon.

I have to say the Nissan sales man was great basically bent over and let me........... The Toyota guy well - I walked out of there muttering very loudly how crap the service was - they wouldn't even get one off the ramps to let us test drive it.

Cheers

Hmm.

When we decide to sell the Pootrol, it will be replaced with a cruiser, that much is certain. It's not that the Pootrol is bad, (actually it's done everything we have asked of it, and that's quite a lot) but I still believe that 'yota makes a better all round vehicle. hmmm V8 hmmm

Question is which cruiser 200 series is nice, but fat. 76 series is the style i like, but too small.

What I need is a proper 5 seat Troopy (previous 4by was a troopy), hmmm 'yota V8, hmmmm
