Today was the day trip to Burra there were 3 4bys that did the trip they were:
Wilkat
Millsy
me shane 45
We had a great day looking around the Township of Burra and the Burra mine site. I met up with Wilkat at Bunnings at Parafield about 8.30 this morning. We traveled up Main North road to the Gawler byepass to the Burra/Clare turn off. We caught up with Millsy just pass Templers on the way to Burra. We stopped at Tarlee and had a chat and short break before heading to Burra. When we got to Burra I picked up a Key that got us into some of the sites Like Redruth Jail and the Miners dug outs and the Police Lock up and Stables. Everyone learned something today even myself.
1. Is the 3 drivers Left to right. Anthony (WilKat) Shane (shane 45) John (Millsy)
2. Is Picketts chimeny at the entrance to the mine site.
3. The 3 4bys in a line.
4. Morphet Pump house.
5. Millsy looking at his new trailer to put behind his 4by
6. Redruth Jail we were all let out as they didnt have any room for us all. The jail was also used in the film Breaker Morant.
7. The Miners dug outs.

Great day out Shane. And nice to Meet Anthony again, and Cathy and little Kelly. She was a delight to watch. Wanted to know, touch and learn about everything, all day long.

Although I had lived not far from Burra for 15 years, I had never taken the time to visit all of the sites we did today. Fascinating stuff. All set up with the big information boards explaining everything. They have done a great job throughout this town to make it really worthwhile place to spend a day out.

I'll see how my pics have turned out, and might put a few up tonight.

Thanks for being a great host Shane, and looking forward to your next trip, just two weeks away. Let's hope the weather is as nice as it was today - absolutely perfect!

Hope the Loveday trippers enjoyed their adventures over on the eastern side. Looking forward to your trip report and pics.

On the way home we took Wilkat and family for a trip down the eastern side of the ranges. We had a bit of a look around the Burra Gorge, and then drove through the Hallelujah Hills across to the Tothill Belt. Over another range to have a look at the little 'lost' town of Waterloo. But it was lost again, and we couldn't find it. I think they like it that way!

So we headed south down through Marrabel, Hamilton, Allendale North and Kapunda. FInally across to Gawler to complete the big loop.

320km of driving, 10 hours of entertainment, and I think we will all sleep well tonight! Actually Anthony, Cathy and Kelly might just about be home by now, since they had to push through another 70 or 80km of city driving to the other end of the urban sprawl!

Hi all,
Yes thanks again to Shane for organise yesterday:),it was nice meeting you.
It was a very interesting & informative day, lots to see & do around Burra, also some of those little towns we went through.
Also thanks for the good company to do this with!
Good report & also you have taken some great pix there as well.
Look forward to more interesting trips!!

& Millsy,
I knew that when I saw you,I thought to myself 'that didn't we meet at Glenelg?'.
Thanks also for some informative info too & the last venture to the 'lost town'!!!
Not only was the ('lost town') lost,we were too!!!:) But you eventually got us out!
It was also nice to meet your wife, son & your future daughter inlaw for coffee on our last long journey home, thanks. Kelli seemed to really got on with your son!! Kids aren't they funny!!!:):)

Kathryn,Kelli & I had a great time day/night out,
we saw & learned alot more than we where expecting. For a small town ,its got a lot of history.& yes the info boards they had was really good.

Kelli had a very big day as you all know, she was so at ease with everyone ,it did make it alot easier on both of us, & she had lots of fun as you could see. Kath & I reckon that Kelli's been here (on earth) "before",FREAKY.

Ps/didn't post last night, soon as we got home it was lights out for all of us.:)

Also again to all THANKS for a great day.Wilkat & family.

FUNNY WE HAD 3 DIFFERENT CARS ON TOUR, A TOYOTA & NISSAN & MITSUBISHI ON THIS TRIP.

I am happy that everyone ejoyed the day and found it interesting. I enjoyed the company of the day and I didnt mention about Millsy getting us lost. But it wasnt all bad at least we found some mud and got the 4bys dirty. The rain washed mine for me Tuesday morning so no photos of my dirty 4by. Here are some more photos of the day.
