That sounds about right.

Scenic Rim is a totally different park to City View and they have a block of land that City View had leased. There is no association with previous management of City View and they have built new facilities and acces track. They have also built an amenities block.

Unfortunately, it seems City View closed as the owner was sent to jail. Anyway, I have been out to Scenic Rim twice now since it opened at Easter.

My only advice is that you heed the track ratings for red (extreme) tracks. Brendon Harris drives a comp truck and his idea of a leisurely drive is quite different to ours. I found this out the hard way after he told me it was OK to go down one track and 4 hours later, we finally got everyone out.

Anyway, it is a nice place with a good range of tracks.

Went to Scenic Rim on the June long weekend - I'll post some pics as soon as I've downloaded them. The Park is fantastic - some crazy sections of track, but I'm driving a Stock GQ 4.2 Petrol Patrol and managed them well - make sure you have good tyres tho - one of our Trolls didn't and he almost slipped off the tracks a couple of times. The blue tracks run all over the park with blacks and reds making some interesting diversions between these (we only went on one red - freshly graded and downhill - the Cliff Road I think it was called.) The views on top of the ridge lines are spectacular and you can see the cityscape of Brisvegas on clear days. The amenities block is Generator Driven, so if you're just using the dunny, bring a torch. The campsites are dotted all over the park, I think Brendan said that they had enough camping for 200 sites? Heck of a lot anyway. Brendan has apparently driven most of the 4WD parks around the area before opening his and has done a great job. Fees for 4Wding and camping are reasonable too. We'll be going back. Oh and he also sometimes does night drives around the park tracks (they were gone for 3+ hours on the Sunday Night of the June long weekend) but if you want to do one of these, I'd suggest contacting Brendan about when he will be doing one. The park is about 5-10 mins drive from Beaudesert where there is a foodmart open until 11 pm for those last minute supplies.

We went on the weekend to Scenic Rim and the place is great. I remember doing some of these tracks the year before last but it has improved vastly. We did all of the blue and single diamond tracks that we could and did one of the double diamond and the creek run 2 X run.

Also found a nice rock in the camp area to pose on.

Well worth the effort to get out and play and also supports the park to get better etc.

Remus in the Jeeps has been - stange enough the jeep came home on a trailer from that one.

I'd be keen for a look and a play. The other one I reakon wouldn't mind trying is the springs

Suggest a weekend mate

it is a good park now that it is a new owner, lots of tracks to play on, and good views.
The springs is good too, but not in the wet.

Thanks for sharing the photos jeeptheone. Thanks for the comments, looks like a good place to go. Trying to organise a trip there in the trips and gathering.
Cheers.

Can anyone suggest a good camp ground within Senic Rim to take a group of people over the Anzac day long weekend?

Just an idea, but have you thought about camping at Rathdowny, it is only a short drive to the park from there and would not be as many people and has great views of Mt Barney, and there is a nice creek that people can sit in and have a few drinks.

Yeah its a good little park with some fun tracks. We were out there competeing in the competition they ran last year and did pretty well. Awesome creek run just inside the front gate which has some interesting lines and big rocks. Yep the poor heep can home on a trailer from out there - was having just a bit too much fun!

It looks like we will be there on Sunday only. We camped there a few months ago and although the tracks were good, the camping wasn't so good. Will be ok in a couple of months if they can get grass to grow but until then its a dust bowl.

As Remus said though, tracks are pretty awsome. Last time I was there MY rig came home on a trailer too.
