@typhoeus , I hope you are not surprised at all this information that is freely available on the internet.
To sum up the whole situation
All governments lie
All government has ideals
All government / humans are greedy

On another point of interest which is worth pondering over
South Africa apartheid….
Nelson Mandela was labelled a terrorist and thrown in jail for supporting the down trodden and weak.
The only reason the situation didn’t stay the same with white totalitarian mentality was because of the media showing exactly what was going on and the rest of the world being up in arms about it.
The media is pushed out and murdered in the Middle East.
The rest of the world sites back and lets our leaders demonise demonstrators
Enough said

No, Matt, im not surprised in the least. But rather than get into an Argument over things, i post these clips, and let people make up their own minds. Some people will do more research and change their minds , others will never change their minds no matter what. Healthy discussion leads to education. On occasions, I've changed my view too,
Now, if only world leaders, could have healthy discussions . . . .

What I find telling is the focus from some here being unhappy that their team is losing in this conflict knowing full well if they had the superior military capabilities we would be seeing exactly the same thing happening on Isralie soil.

I don’t see any discussion about accepting responsibility for their part in this mess which both sides have contributed to. Nor do I see any acknowledgment or condemnation of terrorist groups or activities. Only justification for their actions

And most importantl, I don’t see any discussions about what a resolution could be. This current situation will continue for generations to come unless there is a resolution which will entail compromise from all parties

Have a look at conflicts in the region in modern history and the casualty numbers, this is just another to add to the list

I don’t agree, most if not all that have contributed to this thread have at one point or another made comments along the lines of , they are all as bad as each other” or tit for tat only continues hate on both sides”
At this stage it’s like the bully at school, the bigger boy picks on the little kids and then wins because he bigger
No one would say to the little kid, ah well if you were the big kid you would do the same so bad luck take ownership of the beating you got

October 7 along with the numerous other wars they have been involved with clearly demonstrates they are exactly the same and that is the general standard for conflict in that region. You can’t deny the facts. Maybe next time around they will have the upper hand if circumstances change who knows.

None of this would be happening if there was agreement to a two state solution but all we hear from the Palistinian supporters is they want to stop losing this war BUT they still want to continue the fight. Just yesterday there was a Palistinian leader in Sydney at a protest saying today ( Oct 7) is a good day.

The dialogue needs to change to looking for ways of finding common ground, you don’t hear it though do you

I'm unhappy* about the slaughter of at least 40 times as many civilians on one side than the other. Against a virtually defefenceless opponent.
The complete annihilation of Gaza.
If the death toll hadve been roughly been equal the world would've accepted it and moved on. The massively disproportionate response from the Israelis is what has grabbed the world's attention.

I agree with you John, they have overstepped the mark. It is a senseless waste of life

I think we need pressure from all sides to get the two parties together for a long term resolution. My concern is though that the support Palistinians are looking for is to survive to fight another day. The dialogue needs to change from just stopping to finding a peaceful resolution

Your post suggests October 7th was the beginning.

Who has ever claimed either party, especially the Arabs as innocent victims??
Nobody from memory although some , not here but in the wider community would have others believe Israel is the innocent victim

Another map to consider.
That brings to mind a quote from "the matrix"
"Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment. But you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern — a virus. . . . "

Thank god these ideas didn't get up:
- The Kimberley Plan was a failed plan by the Freeland League, led by Isaac Nachman Steinberg, to resettle Jewish refugees from Europe in the Kimberley region in Australia before and during the Holocaust.
- Port Davey, Tasmania, Australia – With the support of the then Premier of Tasmania, Robert Cosgrove (in office from 1939), Critchley Parker proposed a Jewish settlement at Port Davey, in south west Tasmania. Parker surveyed the area, but his death in 1942 put an end to the idea.

Can you imagine Israeli ground forces moving into Queensland after an exploding phone took Albo's head off?
