Another Archm shock failure

Hi guys im new to 4wd and also to this site. After having my wh jeep grand Cherokee for a few months now the 4wd bug has bitten. I had to soon mod it and first on that list was a lift kit due to the jeep being so low. So i found a bargain (or so i thought) a 2 inch lift from archm which included kingsprings. And this is where the trouble started, first i found the bush type on these shocks were no good for the jeep hanger and soon after install i was chasing a problem. I had an audible squeek which i couldnt locate, first point of call was to ensure all bolts were tight (check) then i dropped the sway bar to ensure it wasnt a worn sway bar bush (check) the noise was still there. A week later after deciding to rip the rear shocks out i found my top hangers were flogged out due to the incorrect bush being supplied, then i found my right shock was completely seized! So i contacted Archm industries straight away. And after lots of convo and many pictures Lawrie agreed he would send me a new shock. But theres a catch, they wouldnt change the bush type. So after agreeing to that about 2 weeks ago im still waiting for my new shocks which have to travel a grand total of 60km to reach me.

4wd suspension is a art form to get right, you will get what you pay for, cheap is crap most of the time, get onto some jeep specialists to get it right or you will continue throw $$ at it and constantly be chasing your tail
Oh and welcome to the forum

Welcome Conan,
Maybe at that point , you should have stopped and went and got the right bushes for them 1st before fitting ?
Cheers Rick

Exactly mate, I've found these guys to be excellent, (although mine was Tough Dog)... Lawie has done the right thing (especially knowing you fitted the shocks with incorrect bushes).. , I think you'll have to chase the correct bushes from somewhere..

Goodluck.. :);)

Just an thing I noted in the photos @Swaggie , is that they are in mud holes.
There is also one bent bolt . My guess and its only a logical guess , is that they were playing around somewhere (probably Bunyip as it is Victoria's No1 Jeep Playground ) and one bolt snapped (no wonder why) and only then did the gravity of the situation sink in.

No bolts snapped and im from bacchus marsh so my local playground is wombat and those shocks had not even seen offroad at that point. As for the person who stated about getting the right bushes the first person i contacted called matt ensured me they have used those bushes many times without a problem on ebay. I have a copy of every message to prove it. I dont mind that it failed, the part that bothers me is ive been waiting 2 weeks for a replacement shock and they are still going to send a replacement with the same bush rather then correcting the problem

Today after 3 weeks waiting for my replacement shock, my new one has arrived under warranty. The first thing ive noticed is they havnt addressed the issue of the wrong bush. But i will fit it with the spacer washer, hoping all will be ok.
