Good point mate.
I'd only be concerned about false fuel figures if Toyota claimed 7lt/100km from the V8 70 series.

Is there actually a universal standard that spells out in really really dumb talk that politicians, reporters and company execs can understand detailing the "Correct" way to perform an economy test? Until such a thing exists in the most dumb and loophole proof form possible then any stated economy figures are basically null and void. There seems to be no standard test, so its no stretch to imagine that no manufacturer in the world actually states figures from a sensible test, IE driving a rear car around in stock form and recoding how much fuel it uses.
