airbag deployment

Only if you launch in and belt the front end hard. They are hard to trick into deploying in a non accident.

Just be mindful of if you have Roll Over Side Protection Airbags, you may have a button to turn them off (200 series Landcruiser)

It seems that over the yrs doing gunshot is what attracts some people to the cape even when I went there in 1989 it was tallked about but it never enticed me to slide down it nose diving the vehicle into the ground. Personally I don't see the sense in driving all that way to increase the potential to damage the vehicle when the trip to the top and back is already hard on everything and you most likely need to fix something while traveling or when you get home.
It's cheaper to watch all the fail videos of those who dared the payed for it. I've been down a lot of risky spots in local bushland over the years when out with mates but not when on a big trip as I prefer to get home in one piece. You're choice but if you fail don't forget to post the video to gain hero status amongst some.

Everything you do while travelling is a risk assessment, at least to those with common sense.

But there has to be a level of bravado right??
Just to say yeh I did that!

Its funny how when people do stupid shit they expect someone will come to their aid, well thats all well & good if someone is around & they decide to take pity on fools in trouble!

Just as well there wasnt a metre of water in that at the time!

I took the side track and still managed to ding up the door sill on logs buried in the mud. I found that the Tele Track wasn't that challenging, its just a long way from home. You'll probably find harder tracks in the Wattagans (outside the wet season of course).
Admittedly I did bail before Nolans Brook as my car was new and I saw nothing to gain by swimming it.

But yeah, unless you launch it over the edge, sliding a couple of feet into mud will be outside the parameters for the airbag to activate.
American airbags are more sensitive as they like their freedom to not wear a seatbelt, so a lot of their bags are programmed to be a primary restraint system. Ours are a supplementary restraint system and are meant to work with seatbelts.

No It's not the hardest track around most of it is 2wd but things can go wrong unexpectedly.
Being from Newcastle I use to drive around the Wattagans it's got some slippery clay around the place just like the bush near Raymond Terrace.

Like others I have never seen the point in doing gunshot
No skill required and not really a challenge of line picking or driver skill
Go to the Vic high country and spend a week and there are numerous tracks that test car and driver, provide a challenge and great fun , driving down a drop off into a hole is neither challenging or fun
Just my opinion and we all have a different take on life

mate did a tag along up there.

Opinion of the local tour guide was only the sponsored vehicles do it...because someone else will pay for the damage and it might get them an extra subscriber, most people in their own cars just went around it because why drive into a hole?
