Keen to go, hows access for a vehicle that’s fairly stock?

Access is pretty easy into the campgrounds , its a graded road with a small creek crossing just before camp about ankle deep.

Be good to have you along. Not sure what @Toddyh has planned for a drive, but always safety with others. I haven't been bogged in that area so it must be easy.
The nights could be cold so please don't bring an air mattress, you'll never get your missus camping in the hills again.

There's plenty of options for day drives and most would be suitable for a stock 4wd. You kind of have to go looking for the more difficult tracks in this area.

Unless you are coming from the north east via the dam wall.. That could be a little trickier..

Only issue is will have just got back from oversea( currently at many metres below sea level at the Dead Sea)

Will be a definite maybe as a day trip at least

Told the boss today I WILL BE HAVING A WEEK OFF!!! Starting Wednesday.
All he could say was “ ohhh, ummm, ok then “

I will be starting to load the car on the weekend ready to set off on Thursday morning

Only a week to go. If you are interested but haven't registered yet then get on it.

We won't be doing any raffles or anything like that this year. Just a good old 4wd meet with some drives, walks and campfire banter.

Paddy's River Dam is general trout dam which means fishing is legal there all year round unlike other streams in the Snowies. So if you're a fisho bring your gear.

We will probably do a day drive Friday and another Saturday. Destination TBA, but likely check out some huts, waterfalls etc.

Oh and also a reminder come prepared for the weather. Forecast is looking good but if it changes it can get very cold down there.

Its really the only place in Australia were you can get a sence of true Alpine environment. You look up at peaks 1500 metres higher than the road its pretty awesome. Just drove up there today first time in a while and its not to far a drive from the Paddys River area. Not a 4wd track just a dirt road 50km round trip to the dam and back from the Alpine way.

Quick question......
Is there one big camp ground or a number of different areas around the place?
At this point I’m looking to get there on Thursday afternoon, so I just want to be sure I’m setting up in the right area.

We will all camp in a group Aza. There's a grassed area on the north side of the dam that should fit us all. It extends up into the trees towards a long drop too.
