3rzfe hilux with a miss help please

I have a 2000 model 3rz manual hilux which has a miss on idle and below 2500rpm ,
It seems to clear up as the revs rise
So far I've replaced leads plugs and coils as they are a cheap replace and I've just bought the vehicle , im getting a compression and leak down test done tomorrow for rings and valves and will clean/inspect the injectors when i have some time, just wondering if anyone on here has had this issue at all with a fix , also plugs have black dusty residue , no signs of oil at all and its not using oil or blowing any smoke at all , everything seems 100% fine apart from this miss

Check valve clearances. As the valves & seats wear the clearances get less and less till there is none. Especially if she's done a few k's . Valves are something that rarely get checked at service.

Yeah that was the plan to hopefully see how the leak down test goes with it

My hilux with the 3rzfe has done nearly 500,000ks and still going strong. Attention to those details goes a long way with these motors. I always change the filter with the oil every 6-8000 ks , and keep an eye on the coolant, as the heads can corrode the water jacket between the cylinders and let water into the cylinders, so keep coolant strength up, ( dont dilute it too much by topping up with water)
