G'day one and all:D
A fellow sand carter has just picked up a '92 Patrol, I havn't seen it but beleive it's stock.
Here's the question for the guru's...
Will 33's fit without any modifications?
If no, whats needed,,,suspension arms, body lift or springs or a combination af them?

I did sugest he join but he's not on the net:( so I said I'd ask.

33's will fit without any modification, providing they are fitted on wheels that are the same as the original offset.

Hey there Alian d2,

Coming from experience unfortunately 33's will scrub on the flares, and when cruising on a highway doing 90km+ with small turns you will scrub your tyres again, which is dangerous.

go Maxxis Bighorn 33x10.5x15 and then they wouldn't scrub cause that's what I've got on the diesel and getting on the petrol troll

However buying a smaller width tyre may help your mates venture, but then again I’d recommend buying a lift kit before 33's, with rims that has an offset same as a LandCrusier 80series, so the scrubbing issues will alleviate.

Here is the same question as yours, but answerd

Good luck,

33's fitted onto my gu stock before I lifted it. Just needed to remove the front mud guards (not the flares) cause it scrubbed over bumps at full lock.
I would suggest your mate puts a small lift in, 2inch, if he wants to 4x4 with 33's.
They will be tight on the road, but they will be even tighter off it...

First ever time I heard the scrub on full lock I thought that my tyres scraped the engine bay, lol.
It's a GQ Lads, they will scrub a bit.

I reckon,,,,,fit a louder stereo!!

It's the same scenario, my old GQ had 33's with 80series rims and 3inch lift. And no scrubbing issues, however they sticked out from the fenders.

lppk at the age of the truck guys - she will be as saggy as Frosty's....... I would be throughing a new set of 2"lift springs at her and maybe some shockes. Only cause why put standard when 2" replacement is the norm.

GQ's and GU's are different. They will scrub on Nissan rims. And rear guards will have to be cut if he puts +16mm trailing arms on it

GQ or GU?? If a GQ and you lift it then put longer trailing arms on it, it will scrub.

Thanks one and all,
(I know better than to say thanks guys, I'd get shot down for that:D)

As I said I haven't seen it but I think he has tyres in the shed so he wants to fit them and work from there.
Thanks again:)
