Have a search through the forum for ideas.

This is a similar recent thread(indirectly) but if you put awnings into the search bar you will get many results!

Thanks I did have a look through the posts but nothing really specific to encountering any dramas with fitting them up, mounting points and if they hang out too much etc. some good set ups out there though.

Yes we do, on a 2018 Triton. We had to get a platform and position it as far back as possible then attach the awning to that. Lose about 200mm over the back but totally ok. I'll have to post some pics from my phone (working very hard at work right now hahahahaha)

Looks good mate well done. How is it’s stability over the back section after the roof rack ends? Did you extend some sort of bracket out?

Yeah it's very stable, the platform extends out a bit from the end rack so the awning is fixed as far back on that as possible. The platform is Rhino and the awning is too. I did lots of research on which awning to get, it came down to rhino or the 30 second awning which reviews said it pooled a bit in rain. The rhino has attached legs with peggable feet, I can set it up by myself no problem, quicker than the side awning even, we love it!

HI Kegs1972, I am interested to see how you have attached the 270D awning to the platform over the cabin. I have a Hilux Dual Cab with canopy and only have 2 roof racks over the cabin. the canopy doesnt have any racks. Are you able to provide a pic from the drivers door side to the Awning, showing the mountings? Would be much appreciated.

Hi Kegs1972, is that a full-size Rhino batwing, or the compact Rhino Batwing? I'm looking at how it will fit my Hilux with a Sammitr canopy with Rhino Aero racks (and a Rhino platform - with sides - over the cab). I'd appreciate any pics too if you're happy to post them.

I'd be very happy to receive them if you're happy to send them, but not sure how to send my email address privately.

I have the kings 270 awning mounted to my canopy mounted rack with a 3rd loose mount on rear bar on the cab (front mount). So far no issues with stability, pretty happy with ease of setup and pack up. And excellent cover especially with a couple of walls on. I have paired the XTM wall kit from BCF as they taper and can be joined if there is heavy rain. Fits perfectly with the Kings awning.
Only used it on one trip and have had a couple of minor issues. First is that once it is open the first panel, that is attached to the mount via the sail track, is pulling out of the track due to tension from outside edge. It’s possible I have done something wrong but can’t see anywhere that seems to have given way. Also, the last bar that folds along the back of the canopy has a bow in it due to tension. Both these issues became apparent whilst setting up in windy conditions. Fairly, easy fixes for both. I anchored the leading edge of the first panel and tie the last bar to my roof rack to take the bow out.
I will be checking in with staff at 4WD Supacentre to see if I’ve broken something and will get back to you when I have an answer. I’ve added a couple of pics. Awning walls left open fir airflow.
