270 Deg Awning Suggestions

Currently in the market for a 270 awning...

Just curious as to what people are running and their thoughts on it?

Looking for something that quite easy to set up and pack down.

I've had my eye on the Bushman XT... it looks the goods but it's expensive and it's massive on the side of the car...

Going to be mounting on a 120 Prado with Tracklander Flat Rack... so don't want anything too crazy...

Foxwing for me. Best thing I bought. Pricey but great quality, cheap spare parts and great after sales service. Highly recommend.

The kings 270 awing

Has anybody bought the new Kings 270 awing? It seems like a copy of the batwing. I would like to know about any first impressions about quality and usefulness. How hard/easy/quick it is to set it up solo. Thank you

After researching pretty much the lot of them, I couldn’t decide.
I showed the missus videos of the Fox Wing, the Darche and the Bush Company as those seem to be the main 3 styles…

It’ll be the Bush Company 270 XT without question. Just for it’s ease of use and quick set up. Looks to be top quality as well. Heavy though… but you

@rob_macca67 you’re on the money there! Ease of use = more use out of it.

We love getting out there but with our 2 month old daughter quick setup is the go these days.

omg I researched for so long on these, eventually went with the Rhino Batwing, purely because the legs were attached permanently and it had peggable feet which meant unless there were decent winds we didn't need to bother with ropes. It's easier to put up and down with one person than the single 2x2m awning. Absolutely love it!

Also... here's another one that may or may not suit... it's light too: CleverShade 4WD & All Purpose Awning

The weight on this one is only 15.5kgs and it's self supporting and there is quite a few varying options/setups that u can have... no idea on price but it's well made... I think the fella is a German-expat, so I assume it will be well made....

27kg is a lot. You have used a substantial amount of your roof rack capacity with the awning

I went ahead and pre ordered the Bushman 270 XT.
Of all of the awnings I researched I wanted it to be quick and being able to get the awning out in less than 30 seconds… that sold me.
I was going to go the Darche, but my missus liked the Bush Company and also reminded me that I’ll probably end up selling the Darche 270 and get the Bush Company anyway! Currently have a Darche 2.5m pull out for sale!

i went the 23 zero as it actually provides more shade along the side of the car .
Pricey but no issues with set up

Interestingly on my recent trip i didnt use it much as when i had the roof top up there was enough shade from that , but when i was set up for a few days it took 5 minutes to set up and take down

Like all the people that believe that their caravan awning is strong enough without tying it down, or securing the legs to the ground.
Until the day when the wind comes the right way and over the van goes the awning...

On the OP - We had a Foxwing and loved it. One person setup wasn't a hassle and even with the legs it took me a few minutes to set up.

I have a supa-peg captains wing which I bought just before the fires and covid so only used a couple of times but I like it apart from the stupid and ugly wording on the side. Suits the size of the MUX.
