Hey guys great to hear you had a good time. Where were you camping? There was soo many people out there on the weekend i didnt end up seeing you. Didnt want to go to every group asking if they were earthlings lol. We had a great time out there any way though. We came in dry creek/ mericumbene and went out dampier. was hoping it was going to be a bit more of a challenging drive but was still a lot of fun. Plenty of loose stuff and holes along the way, was picking the hardest lines aswell to test the new setup. But still didnt need to use the diff lock. Hopefully you will do another bendethera trip when it warms up and i can travel in, camp and catch up with all of you.

Pretty sure we watched you drive past. Would've literally been the first group you saw after exiting the creek.

there is no truth to the rumour that hooligans found us and let off fireworks!

The car in mothballs for 2 years did really well until 2 k from home where there was a loud bang and much wobbling
Thought id lost a tyre
drivers side rear sway bar connector came apart
Managed to use the ever present fencing wire to fix it and limp home
Now i cant get the bastard back in!

Great weekend
good to catch up with some people
Hopefully wont be 2 years till the next time i can get there!

I’m definitely glad I insisted on making it back for this gathering. What an awesome location.

From the familiar faces, to those I hadn’t met before, thank you all for the great weekend.

Can’t wait to do it again.:)

We were spread out. We probably would’ve looked like multiple groups until the fire was lit and we all came together. So if you had of asked around, the first few groups would’ve all been us.
Quite a few had to go home Sunday morning, so when you left there wasnt a lot of us, but the few of us that were left did wave.

I think it was @Luthy that said we need a banner or something to help people find us.
I think this confirms it.

Yea i thought that it was all seperate groups, a banner would definitely be helpful for the newbies who dont know anyone. I was wondering where the fire works were coming from lol

Its still a couple of months away, but thought I would share. Track conditions as of Sunday 11th March:

Merricumbene - generally okay. Some moguls on some water bars when traveling from north to south. One "rough" section south of the Oulla intersection. Be aware of the sharp hair pains. One short downhill south of the Mongamula intersection on a southern face was slippery. Could be interesting when travelling northbound after rain.
Mongamula - West of Alpine: all okay. East of Alpine: steeper than Merricumbene, some moguls on water bars when travelling up to Merricumbene.
Minuma Range - nothing significant to report.
Dampier Mountain from Bendethera to Minuma Range - good condition, be aware of the sharp hair pin...
Bendethera to Moruya - nothing of interest to report...

Cheers
Hi,
where did you get those 'track conditions' from?

I am planning on taking some little ones for a drive day around Deau.
Planned route: https://goo.gl/maps/7PJhMY7ngMS2

Leaving Moruya take Wamban Rd
Little Sugar Loaf Rd
Lynchs North Firetrail
Wamban Firetrail
Coondella Firetrail
Back onto Little Sugar Loaf Rd
Bendethera Valley campground [lunch]
After lunch, head north along Merricumbene Firetrail
Then take the Oulla Creek Firetrail and head back to Moruya

I emailed National Parks at Narooma last week but no reply as yet
