2009 O'Tooles Flat Gathering

Yes! it's back again O'Tooles 2009
When: November 12th,13th,14th,15th & 16th
Expressions of interest are required for a gathering at O'Tooles Flat. It doesn't matter if your a complete Newbie or a seasoned Pro, there will be something for everyone, so why not bring the family.Tracks in the area range from Easy to Hard.
UHF channel 25, unless advised otherwise.

Requirements: NB No fuel after Moe. All Terrain tyres preferred, snatch strap & recovery points front & rear, rated shackles only. Your vehicle must have as a minimum third party insurance. You must be self sufficient with your camping gear and bring enough food (alternative arrangements should be made in the event of a total fire ban) and water for the weekend. You will need a hat, sunglasses, wet weather clothing, and strong walking boots. Last but not least, A sense of humor!

No Rubbish Bins at O'Tooles Flat! If you bring it in, take it out!

Hooning in the camping area is not an option so please Do not do it.
If you can see dust in your mirrors you are going too fast, Safety First.

How to get to O’Tooles Flat with GPS POINTS

Basically the drive to Moe, Moccasins On Everybody ( Last chance for FUEL) then onto Erica then onto Rawson is pretty straight forward., Although you don’t go into Rawson but continue up to the Thompson Dam,

Drive over the dam wall and continue onto a T intersection

Walhalla Road
37 degrees,49'21.03"S - 146 degrees,24'25.39"E turn Left

Stay on the main road

TRIG Track on Right , do not turn into – PSA

CHERRY TREE TRACK on Left, do not turn into – PSA

CASCADE SPUR do not turn into – PSA

JUNCTION – keep to the right

PIPELINE TRACK on left. Do not turn into- PSA

DREAM CREEK TRACK on right, do not turn into – PSA

MERRINGTON TRACK

37 degrees,46'33.17" S - 146 degrees, 23'11.68" E

– TURN RIGHT

PLEASANT TRACK on right , do not turn into- PSA

SULLIVAN TRACK off to left, do not turn into- PSA ( there is also a track leading down to the right which leads you down to MERRINGTONS camp area- DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ONE )

You will cross over a stream / river and you will come to a JUNCTION,

37 degrees, 45'29.43" S - 146 degrees 24'13.62" E

to the right there is WILLIAMSON”S SPUR TRACK which is the most direct but is steep down Flats Track

NOT FOR NEW CHUMS

WILLIAMSON”S SPUR TRACK ,. TURN RIGHT

37 degrees 45'32.50" S - 146 degrees25'50.66" E

FLATS TRACK on left, TURN LEFT

It is a steep descent in spots but you will soon see a clear area lower down, this is O’TOOLES FLAT

FOR NEW CHUMS

At the T junction WILLIAMSON”S SPUR TRACK,TURN LEFT

Continue on Merringtons track and shortly you will come to another creek crossing,

37 degrees 45'28.68" S - 146 degrees 24'08.94" E

crossing the creek, off to your right is JUNCTION TRACK turn onto this

37 degrees 44'59.86" S - 146 degrees 24'18.44" E

JUNCTION- to the right .DONNELY CREEK ROAD,TURN RIGHT.

JUNCTION- to the left is WHITE STAR TRACK, do not turn into –PSA

TRACK ON LEFT, do not turn into, this leads into Little O’Tooles,- PSA

I had to leave last November on the Friday for weekend work. There will also be a weekend in November this year that I will need to work. At this stage I do not know which weekend in November I will have to work. If the work weekend does not clash with the O'Tooles weekend I will be at O'Tooles.
