Only 200 k's to go before my 2013 BT50 clocks the 200 mark in just over 4 years this week.
No Mods on engine , no catch cans , no EGR plates , no ECU or exhaust upgrades , stock as a rock in that department.
Still runs at 9.1 litres per 100 , I have lift kit , bar work all round and winch etc for added weight and height.
Its been dealer serviced every 10 thousand k's on time , and the engine doesn't leak a drop of oil , nor use any at all.
I reckon thats pretty good. Just Run in lol :)

I'm one of the ones interested to see how these new breed of diesels last.
Ive no reason to doubt it could double up to 400k's easily , without major work. If you drove it and the speedo said 20k's you would not know or pick any difference . Anyway I love it and if it blows its load , I can get a engine cheap from the wreckers :)

Local copper had a Mazda 929 (the wedge shape) done over 1mil Ks
mechanically untouched, he contacted mazda and tried to get a deal on a new vehicle in return
for his story. All was going well until they found out it wasn't serviced by a stealer, then they
weren't the slightest bit interested.

I asked my mech about putting a catch can on the ranger. He reckons they run pretty clean. Tritons etc he puts them straight on. Mines only just done 100 kms and keeps impressing.

I had one of those...Red of course...I walked into a Mazda dealer down the Peninsular way in Vic back in the 80's not really thinking I'd find what I was looking for, went through the yard and the Stealer asks what I was looking for so I told him I don't think you have one, whats that he says...A Red 929 Turbo Coupe with a sunroof with low K's...Oh he said like that one over there? And there it was and two days later it was mine! I loved it! one of the most comfortable, modern cockpit layout and dash lights everywhere for everything! Able to adjust electronically the suspension on the fly! amazing bit of kit then!

Mazda were really on their game back then and produced some awesome cars
I had a RX7 and a twin carb SS 323 before that

Nice one Rick, I am about 25k behind you in the cruiser in the same period. You just going to keep her?

My comment was based on the fact that I have a 2012 2.2ltr ranger with 100,000 on it. No problems so far. So a trouble free future hopefully

Of Course , besides I've spent 10k on it with other bits to get it how I want it :)
Would be stupid and a waste of money to trade it in and start all over again , I will get my moneys worth out of it , and so far its delivered in spades .
Body and Interior as still tight with no squeaks , rattles etc etc . Its only had one new battery and a front driveshaft seal ( sub $200 job)
Shows no signs of falling apart so far (touch wood) and hasn't even busted a CV yet , I Probably Jinxed myself now by saying that ;)
Its well loved and maintained , but gets plenty of regular 4x4 workouts .
Im impressed , I know that they aren't the most popular 4x4 ute on the market and people say that they are ugly , and a Poor Man's Ranger , lol.
But I still see plenty around on the road and in the bush.

Just over 80000 on mine. I'm on my 3rd intercooler hose, but that is about the only real issue. I took issue with the dealer taking my money, but not actually doing the work, so started doing it myself.

When I did the 80000 service I pulled the inlet tract to see how much carbon was building up in there and found about 3mm in the inlet to the manifold and 1mm around the inlet ports. I thought it would be worse than that after seeing what some Tritons accumulate.

Its a bit of a bugger of a job as you need to pull the battery, fuse box, fuel filter, EGR hose and valve, move hoses and a bunch of other stuff to get the manifold out, but achievable by a 1/2 competent home mechanic.
1/2 of one of those Inlet Decarb spray cans was squirted down it at the 70k mark, but I don't think it did anything. The carbon that was there I squirted with degreaser, hosed and then I had to scrape out with hard plastic scraper. The spray on stuff was doing next to nothing.

There was a Toyota dealer technician up Qld that was telling me they have three high K D4D Hiluxes they service, two have done 800k and the other has cracked a million k's which he said is now sounding a bit tired
Different vehicle I know but still a modern diesel

Thats interesting to see mate , personally I never bother about home mechanics these days, I just drop it off and pick it up . As long as it still runs AOK is all I care about.

Awesome to hear spooner,
200k problem free is a win hope it's another 200k more !

On the EGR
Seeing as you are doing 50k a year one would assume alot of that is longer trips and blocked ERGs are problematic on cars that spend a lot of time ideling Ie, daily city commuters and mine vehicles. The EGR closes up when your on the gas.

My work bus is a 3.4lt petrol Rodeo, 280k on the clock hassle free no drivetrain or motor issues.

Mines a manual , to be honest its not the slickest stick shifter around , but its never really bothered me, its not as slick as a car one.
Likely a good thing, reckon you would be lucky to get 200k km out of an auto. Manual box should almost last for ever, maybe a clutch but thats cheap in the scheme of things.
