15 year old girl killed by snatch strap breaking

Tragic news today of the death of a 15-year-old who was hit in the chest by a broken snatch strap. Her 11 year old sister was also injured. They were riding in the back of a Ute whilst their father was recovering a vehicle on their farm.

So important that everyone stays clear when a recovery is being conducted.

Thoughts with her twin sister, her older and younger sister and parents.

Terrible accident.
I suspect that this recovery did not involve pulling a stuck/bogged car using a snatch strap, as we would commonly do, but towing it a distance, where a tow strap or chain should have been used.
In any case the kids should not have been in the back of the tray but in the cab behind a headboard.
