Im after recommendations for 12v coffee makers , looked on flea bay and prices vary from 35-100+ dollars .
Think I've seen @sharkcaver using one on his youtube channel ???? If so how does it rate and what price etc etc .
I hadn't drunk coffee for a good 10 years or so and the kids bought me a Nespresso machine for my birthday in December , since then I've become a coffee junkie pushing 2 in before work each morning . Tea just doesn't cut it for me in the mornings now so what do the coffee people use when out camping .

I use a plunger because its easy, when we were looking at electric blankets for the camper, yes yes I know, we spoke to a yachty who advised us to get a inverter and a 240v blanket not a 12v because of the amp or watts, can't remember what but a electrical guru might confirm.
Power used is nothing to do with voltage and more to do with watts so I would look at a inverter to run a coffee machine not a 12 volt.

What about using an inverter ?
240v coffee machine is a bit big to lug around plus the inverter , like to keep it simple Captain.

Something similar to this .

Have a look into aeropress or the be all and end all rok coffee maker. Both don’t require power and while I don’t personally have a rok after drinking from a mates I reckon it makes a better coffee than most coffee machines on the market.
If you’re going to get serious I can also recommend a portico coffee grinder, a hand powered ceramic grinder is a bit of work but the coffee tastes better after a bit of elbow grease and some good quality coffee beans. Nothing beats freshly ground coffee.

I think if you like the pods, ground might not be to your taste still???? Theres an art to it, not only the bean but the grind, and the machine to make it, you have to learn the machines quirks. Fresh grind is nice, but you can grind at home, and freeze it for travels if you go the grounds route.

My partner she likes pods, but not keen on coffee shop coffee usually. Its needs to be especially good for her to finish a coffee shop coffee.

That minipress thingo looks alright if you like pods, just know not all pods fit all machines. Or the Frenchpress style etc for ground, cant be simpler and been around a long time.

I didnt know the grounds was an option in them... thats pretty good actually. Most use steam to pressurise, meaning the coffee is burnt, and bitter. Good machines use pumps, and keep the water going into the beans at IIRC optimum is 85C for coffee. With that Minipresso, boil water, let it sit for a few minutes to drop temp a little, and away you go.

Its 91 to 96 apparently... but never boiling.

I don’t drink coffee, but I was watching an outback expedition video on YouTube the other day, and the people on it were raving about the coffee they made in this funky looking thingamabob. They claimed it was so good that it almost made me want to try a cup.

After a bit of a Google, I’ve managed to identify it as the ROK Espresso Maker that Blue_haired_man mentioned. Weird looking, but looks like it’d be hard to break.
Only thing, is at $200+, it’s a bit dearer than the range you mentioned above.

One thing I have found with pod machines is that the coffe taste changes with the water you use with it. We have the same at work as I have at home and the one at works spits out a different coffe to home. Not bad just different. And the water is the only change. And the water is nice to drink at work and I filter my water at home.
