Alrighty,

Missus and I got ourselves a queen size Wanderer self inflating mattress… it’s pretty darned comfortable to sleep on and is pretty darned easy to set up. Just open the valves and it does the rest on its own. The problem is… having to gator wrestle the damn thing to roll it up. I know there are a heap of pump/deflators on the market for air beds. But I don’t think they’ll cut the mustard for deflating this thing. Anybody know of a decent pump that might be able to handle such a mattress? A shop vac would definitely work but it’s not really a practical solution… I’m also thinking modding a couple of the valves to one way to prevent air sucking back into the mattress. But I’d rather just throw a pump on there and do nothing.
Cheers.

I have the Ryobi One+ inflator/deflator with compressor.
The compressor is only good for car size tyres, but the inflator/deflator is pretty good and certainly good at deflating our furniture.

It’s all in the technique. You shouldn’t need any kind of tool for the job.
Try this at home where you have plenty of room to move and a nice clear surface to work on.
Open the valves,
fold over long ways 3 or 4 times
squash all the air you can out,
Close the valves while you’re still sitting on it
Leave the valves closed
Unfold
Repeat the fold over long ways as many times as you can
open the valves while you’re sitting on it
Listen while all the air comes out, when it stops
Close the valves while you’re still sitting on it
Leave the valves closed
Unfold
Repeat the fold over long ways as many times as you can
open the valves while you’re sitting on it
Listen while all the air comes out, when it stops
Close the valves while you’re still sitting on it
Repeat until happy
