I bought a bearing kit and did it myself as I was poor, could only get 1st and 4th without horrible noises and the oil was full of bronze glitter.
It only survived about 18 months until it wouldn't stay in 5th and needed doing again. New 5th gear, new syncros and new bearings and it was good as new. I did the remove and install myself, which is a bit of a shit job.
I also don't recommend transporting the bike into Brisbane strapped on the back of a motorbike. Cornering was a bit interesting.
