what projects u did/are doing during the social isolation

Finally found the time to strip the challenger after sinking her in a mud hole and learning that challengers are terribly sealed with plenty of holes for water to enter Coming up a treat though! Also redoing the wiring on the aux battery as it was a bit of a crows nest in there!

To go Camping or not to go camping?

Just make sure you take your own supplies. Country towns are in the same situation as the rest of us with shops selling out of the essentials which is putting a real strain on the locals.

New changes to 4x4earth - memberships, popups and ads.

On Google chrome on my laptop, can read one line of a post at a time. Ad's should be pinned to the top of the forum so that when scrolling they don't cover page content and the website can still be usable by non-members

Solar w/ dual battery and Projecta DBC100

That was the basic idea yes, to connect the solar charger to the main battery and then that should also trigger the DC-DC to charge as well? As long as the voltage is above the DC-DC unit's trigger voltage

Solar w/ dual battery and Projecta DBC100

Hi Mark, The DC-DC turns off when the input voltage drops below a certain voltage (Alternator no longer providing power). My thought is that if the MMPT is put before the DC-DC, it will detect the charge voltage and begin charging the AUX again, while charging the main? Cheers

Solar w/ dual battery and Projecta DBC100

That was my thinking too, just making sure I'm not missing something obvious. And nah the charger doesn't have a solar option. But even if it did it wouldnt charge the main anyway? Cheers!

Solar w/ dual battery and Projecta DBC100

Piggybacking on this thread, Seems fine in my eyes but just double checking, I have a DCDC charger from my main to my AUX battery. If I run an MMPT solar charge controller to the main battery and plug in portable panels while stationary and the vehicle is off, will this cause any issues? Idea...

    Melbourne Club suggestions

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to Melbourne so don't have any friends here with 4WD's yet so it would be awesome to meet some others to go on trips with so I'm not worried about getting bogged with no recovery options other than waiting for someone else to stumble upon me. Been looking at...

Rear view cameras - full time

Very easy, instead of hooking up the 12V trigger wire to the reverse lights (This is generally how you get it to turn on only when reversing), you can just connect it to the accessory 12V so that it is always on. For switching between one on the caravan, you can easily setup a connector so that...
