    Mechanic recommendation in Brisbane?

Hi All, I took my 2007 Nissan Patrol (3.0 Diesel) for its first service (120km) since owning the vehicle. I just took it to the local mechanic in Wynnum (Brisbane) as they seemed to have good reviews, pretty convenient etc. His service seemed very good and alot cheaper than the Nissan dealer...

Sleeping in a 2007 Nissan Patrol?

The group im traveling with, in my car, has a swag (wife and kids) and cheap tent (my dad). I can actually fold forward the middle seats, rear seats and comfortably fit an air mattress (no crates of ply required). Dont want to buy another tent or swag just for the sake of it, especially for a...

Sleeping in a 2007 Nissan Patrol?

Planning to get a piece of ply (1800mm x 750mm), sitting on top of 2x collapsible crates. Should be a comfy sleep with a camping mat (to protect mattress) and a 100mm self inflating mattress.

    Power options for camping?

I have started calling a few places re getting an secondary battery installed.. My local auto electrician quoted $750 to supply and fit secondary battery (with an outlet in the back), the ARB wanted $1500 (there was a slightly cheaper option). Why such a big difference?

    Rust protection options?

Thanks! I dont plan on doing excessive beach driving, perhaps short drives once or twice a month to get to some of the swimming hole on Bribie Island or occasional trip to Fraser Island. My patrol only has 115k on the clock, only see myself doing 10-12k per year max, so i do plan of having the...

Hi All, I purchased a 2007 Nissan Patrol about 4 months ago which has no signs of rust. I havent really done much beach / sand driving (only a couple of times), but just wanted to know how important it is to have rust protection? I have been told about an electric device which prevents rust...

    QLD National Park Beach camping

Ended up going to Inskip on New Years Day.. very busy when we arrived, but started emptying out as we left today. Great little spot! One of the campsites, S.S. Dorrigo, mentioned it was 2wd friendly, so i didnt bother deflating my tyres (left them on 35psi).. ended up getting bogged on the...

    QLD National Park Beach camping

Hi All, Over the past 4 months, since getting my Patrol, we have been bush camping just about every weekend in the QLD National Parks and State Forrests. Most people we have met along the way have told us we need to go to Fraser Island. I still have 3 weeks of leave remaining, so I'm hoping to...

QLD National Park with waterhole, creek and swimming

@rob_macca67 Thanks for suggestion, much appreciated! At this stage, i can book camping at Booloumba Creek 4 camping area or Charlie Moreland Campgrounds. With 3 young kids (under 8), which of the two would be best suited? As mentioned before, they love water!
