ok had the mav apart yesterday , egg rings are in but did notice some ware on the gears that mesh together to make 4wd happen , its like the clutch mechinesium was not coming far enough over to mesh properly so ive had it appart , cleaned , re greased and adjusted it out see how it goes today...

thanks for your replies, no noise at full lock it mainly happens when straight or slight turn , nothing at full lock . i do think its more so freewheeling hub problem and moer than likely lack of grease or broken .
