To be honest, the Recaros are overrated anyway, I had them in my old Surf. The SR5 seats are much more comfy...

Surf and SR5 seats are pretty much the same ( except for the Recaro surf seats). Bit more padding and lumbar support than the standard hilux jobbies, so worth it I rekon. Especially since they are genuinely a straight bolt in replacement to the originals!

She looks tidy in photo's, but the paint is actually pretty rough in person. Next to no rust and pretty straight though, so can't complain too much!

Another small update, Tub is now back on the Hilux. The tub still needs a good polish, but it's getting there. Not overly exited about how low the towbar is, but it will have to keep for now. I also picked up a set of 2nd hand 31" muddies from Evilbay last week for $100 with about 50%...

Not a major mod, but happier to have these on front now :) The little IPF's were good, apart from where the old owner had mounted them. Everytime the sun hit them, I almost ran off the road! I have the IPF's on Evilbay now if anyone is interested. $90 + Postage or collection is fine.

Had another look under the Hilux today and decided that the swivel hubs are leaking worse than I originally thought, so i'm going to need to get these rebuilt sooner then later. I am very basic when it comes to mechanics and I think this might be a little out of my league to do myself, so...

Yeah the original seats were stuffed, so I got some SR5 seats for her. Much nicer now, but still needs an ash tray and steering column surround from when some buffer broke into it before I owned it.

Bighorns are pretty easy to get nowadays, Bob Jane, Jax carry them. If your based in Sydney, Tyres For Less at Fairfield are usually the cheapest with them that I have seen, but hunt around.

I had Bighorns on my old surf. Fantastic tyre in my opinion. Very good off road, pretty good on road too, even in the wet. The only thing I noticed with them is they like to howl a fair bit in comparison to the Cooper STT's I had before them. The Cooper STT is an awesome tyre, but I bit...

Well, after 6 solid hours on saturday of washing and polishing, this is how she came up. I'm really happy with the difference, although far from perfect, it will do me fine. The SR5 4runner seats are mucho comfy too :)

I know the new ones are made in Thailand, however i think they were made in Japan until 05?

Already got BJ Spacers, just need to modify the exhaust to fit the diff drop kit and I should be able to wind the torsion bars up close enough to match the rear once fitted. I was thinkin about doin a body lift, but don't know if I could be bothered. It should be high enough once I sort out...
