About the Albury-Wodonga 4WD Club Inc.

The Albury-Wodonga 4WD Club was formed in April 1988 by a small group of ardent four wheel drivers who acknowledged that with the unlimited opportunities for four wheel driving in this area, the formation of a club would be beneficial to a large number of people. The club has grown from approx. 60 members in 1988 to the present level of 150 families. The club's main aim is to promote safe and responsible four wheel driving in a family orientated atmosphere. We welcome four wheel drive vehicles of any make or type.

Our members come from areas including Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Beechworth, Myrtleford, Yackandandah, Culcairn and Henty to name a few. Trips are run on a regular basis and cater for all levels of experience from novice to highly experienced. We also hold regular base camp trips and welcome caravans and camper trailers where appropriate. Monthly trips range in standards from scenic touring to full competition. We offer members the opportunity to undertake our Driver Awareness Training Courses which gives them the opportunity to fully understand the capabilities of their vehicles.

The Albury Wodonga 4WD Club holds its general meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 7.30pm, in it's clubhouse at the Albury Show Grounds. Annual membership fees are $75 per year with a once only $20 joining fee. Members receive a monthly newsletter which outlines up coming trips and club functions, as well as related articles, trip reports and committee reports. Members receive discounts from many local businesses & have use of all club equipment. The use of the website forum is a new and innovative part of the Albury Wodonga 4WD Club.

Albury-Wodonga 4WD Club is proud to be affiliated with 4WD NSW and 4WD AUSTRALIA. The club also enjoys a long standing relationship with both the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) and Parks Victoria. We were part of the Adopt a Hut programme until 2003, when unfortunately the hut we were maintaining, "Selwyn Hut", was completely destroyed by fire.

Our club is the only country based Honorary Member of the Royal Flying Doctors' Service and we also support many local community projects including Camp Quality, Family Link and the Nail Can Hill Run.

We enjoy reciprocal memberships with many other four wheel drive clubs in all states of Australia
