Violet Hill - Myall Lakes

Campsite Description
This is a great spot for families and while it can be busy at peak times, has enough exploration options to keep everyone happy. We took our kayak (there is a boat ramp) and spent a lot of time enjoying the lake and finding little tributaries which were exquisite.
Showers not necessary - kayak or wander into the freshwater lake, sit down in knee-deep water with a drink and watch the sunset. Wander back to your tent/camper refreshed and cleaner than you went in!
There are some fun 4wd tracks and nice day trips to Wallis Lake.
Rangers make an appearance randomly and ask for camp fees which are very cheap.
So, in summary - a very easy place to get to, plenty of great watersports to be had and very family friendly. If you live in Sydney, a great "short cut" home is via Waukivory Rd to Gloucester, then across Barrington Tops before heading left from Scone and down the New England... a *much* quicker and more beautiful road home... ;-)
