Paterson River, Chichester State Forest

Campsite Description
Not a bad spot for state forest. Crystal clear swiming holes. The river bed here is all solid rock with large holes here and there. The plant life is large and jurassic like. Bring your camera!
Can get busy though and sometimes trail bikes, only other bad thing is the march flies, there almost as big a 20 cent piece and they bite! but they seem to stay away from camp.
There is numerous campsites here large and small. You will need a 4wd to get to a campsite.
From Lost Stock Dam continue to follow Paterson River Rd until Boonabilla Forest Rd and turn right and after about 2km keep left onto James Rd. Continue on past Bindarra Forest Rd and take the next track on the right. you will pass some farm land and then back in the bush.
You will find campsites on the right along the Paterson river.
It has been a few years since I've been here, the directions i have given should get you there but anyway its worth dropping into the Information centre at Dungog and get an up to date map. Theres lots of camping area's around here and the nice people at Information can point them out on your new map.
