Campsite Description

This basic camping area is on the western edge of a clearing and kangaroos commonly visit the area. You can follow the Mooraback Trail, a short loop walk from the campground. The Platypus Pools walk also starts from the camping area and its 6km loop takes you along the upper reaches of the Hastings River where platypus are often seen.

Getting there: Access via Kangaroo Flat Road from Oxley Highway, or via Racecourse Trail from Brushy Mountain (4WD vehicle required). The camping area is at the end of Mooraback Road. The route from the Oxley Highway includes unpaved roads, suitable for standard 2WD vehicles.

Facilities: picnic tables, wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), non-flush toilets

Water supply: Water is available in the creek - not recommended for drinking.
