Khancoban is at the western side of the Snowy Mountain and you can purchase your entry pass to the park at the ranger station within the town.  This is a small country town and thing close up around 5PM.  The dam beside the town is open for water skiing and you can venture into the Kosciuszko National Park for trips around the area.  Geehi and Tom Groggin's are rough 30 minutes away.  Some interesting tracks and areas including huts are up towards Cabramurra.

 

Cabins are reasonable but nothing flash, camping and caravan areas are behind the cabins
