My youngest son acquired himself a 2009 Jimny last weekend. The seller had owned it stock and proceeded to put a few mods on. Its actually fairly schmick ......mods include a 2" OME Lift, 5 X 30" BFG MT's, Xrox bar, winch, Redarc dual batteries, ARB compressor, some sort of doof doof sound system, lights and light bar, CB radio.....

Nice little rig! I'd be changing that sticker on the rear window to cruiser instead of patrol though;)

The more I see them, the more I like them. Not really suited for me personally but very capable little 4wds with correct mods and driven well.

They are some cheap arse Chinese kit....but they're the brightest things since the 1940 London Blitz searchlights...combined with the light bar.....I can damn near see through the neighbors loungroom walls ! Truely turns night into day......

The Jimny had crap brakes.....95k on the clock so i reckon they were the original pads and discs. Changed them out last week. She's done a bit of water/mud work methinks, going by the state of the OE ! 20161111_182715.jpg
A lot of flogging and swearing to get the discs off
    20161111_182728.jpg
AND, would you believe, Suzuki, in their wisdom changed the internal diameter of the discs or should i say the outer diameter of the front hub on the 2008 Jimneys by 1.5mm. Repco didn't even have a listing for the increased size so it was a bit of a bastard trying to fit the new ( slightly smaller ) disc to the hub......and of course no one in Darwin carried the bigger size on the shelves, not even the stealership. So back to Repco for a credit ( like I said their parts lists didn't even show the other sized disc/hub ).
We had to get some freighted up from Adelaide ( and as we all know, NT means Not Today, Not Tomorrow, Next Tuesday, Next Thursday, Next Truck....)
but she's back on the road now and the brakes damn near put ya through the windscreen. 20161118_180022.jpg 20161118_180035.jpg
Oh and have i mentioned its very handy having a son who is a mechanic and is still young enough to be keen....

not if you get out in front first , big rigs will get bogged first . If you get stuck behind you can weave between the trees were they cant go and if you really must stay on track a front locker makes these as good as a fully optioned quad bike .
