Trial fitted my new wheels today:

    Checking clearances under flex:

Size difference between 265/65R17 and 285/70R17 (quite a large one at that!)

Think im going to need some flares to keep the law happy

Plenty of clearance all around, closest is 10mm to the mud flap under full lock and compression.

After a 2" lift should be miles of room.

    They are 33's?

Yea 33x11.5", bit oversize for a 285/70R18 - Nitto Trail Grapplers

33 was traditionally 33x12.5 but still 33 high.

Hey they look pretty good there mac man.
Did you try jacking from the passenger rear tyre? ,would give better compression of front drivers suspension that way.

    cheers,
    Brian.

Nice mac man! 33 will be my next size i think 31's are great at the moment but with the lift should fit 33's without a drama! Cheers

    $2k wow good deal

Looks good, just take it easy with such small clearances as once offroad with a bit of momentum you'll be surprised how much more compression you'll get

    +18 17x9"

Not ideal +30 or 35 would be better as the hang out a bit more than id like.

How far do these stick out approx?

about 20mm, easily covered by flare...one day.

Better options in +30 - +45 rims now though which don't hang out at all

Nice looking vehicle mate. It's amazing what a set of decent tyres does to the way a 4WD looks!

Looks great Luke, r u running a auto or manual, just wondering how a Ranger auto handle larger tyres - whether it holds top gear.

The Pajero(NM) auto drops out of overdrive in top gear at the slightest hill and this is worst when tyre size is increased, looking at possible upgrade to a Everest when they come out ( auto or manual is the question)
